Report: Crain has developed into a solid pitcher that gets out in front with his explosive fastball. He is more known for his ability to control of his fastball, but can also rack up on strikeouts.
Repertoire: He has a limited selection of pitches, but possess a very good fastball that reaches 94-96 mph and a hard slider that he likes to mix in a lot. He occasionally uses a mid 80's mph change-up that is mediocre.
Weaknesses: His limited selection of pitches can get him in trouble with runners in scoring position. When runners are in scoring position, he tries to overpower his fastball, rather than use his control. |
